Lincoln, NE – July 25, 2011 – At a meeting in Omaha on July 22 the board of the Nebraska Environmental Trust announced that 21 projects will receive additional funding totaling $829,000.00 for natural resource work in Nebraska. Of these 21 projects, 20 received more funding and one new project was added to the 2011 Final Rank Order list. The new project is “Egan Lake Restoration and Easement” by the Sandhills Task Force.

The additional funds came from past projects that have been completed and did not expend all of the Trust funds that were awarded originally.

This is the 18th year of grants from the Trust, which has provided over $173 million dollars in lottery revenue to preserve and protect the air, water and land of our state. Some of the projects receiving funding include:

A complete listing of all approved 2011 grants can be found on the Nebraska Environmental Trust web site at www.environmentaltrust.org.
